    FAQs

What is the RBL World Safari Credit Card?
It’s a travel-focused credit card from RBL Bank designed for frequent travelers, offering a 0% foreign currency markup fee (a standout feature), travel points, lounge access, and complimentary travel insurance.
    What is the annual fee?
The joining and annual membership fee is INR 3,000 + GST. There’s no spend-based waiver mentioned, but some users report negotiating retention offers (like fee reductions) upon renewal by threatening cancellation.
    What are the welcome benefits?
You get a MakeMyTrip voucher worth INR 3,000 as a welcome gift, sent via SMS or email after paying the joining fee and using the card at least once within 30 days of issuance.
What is the 0% forex markup fee, and how does it work?
Most credit cards charge 1.75%–3.5% on foreign currency transactions as a markup fee. The RBL World Safari Credit Card charges 0%, meaning you only pay the base exchange rate (set by Visa/Mastercard) without extra costs. For example, spending $100 at INR 83/USD would cost INR 8,300, saving you INR 145–290 compared to cards with typical markup fees.
How do I earn travel points?
    • 2 travel points per INR 100 spent on all transactions (0.5% value, as 1 point = INR 0.25).
    • 5 travel points per INR 100 spent on travel-related expenses (1.25% value).
    • No points on international purchases despite the 0% markup (a downside for some).
Points are credited within 45 days of the transaction settlement.
    What are the milestone benefits?
    • Spend INR 2.5 lakh in a year: 10,000 bonus travel points (INR 2,500 value).
    • Spend INR 5 lakh in a year: 15,000 bonus travel points (INR 3,750 value).
    • Spend INR 7.5 lakh in a year: Gift voucher worth INR 10,000 (from brands like Taj Experiences, Amazon, MakeMyTrip, etc.).
Bonus points and vouchers are credited/mailed within 45 days of hitting the milestone.
How can I redeem travel points?
Redeem them at www.rblrewards.com for flights, hotels, shopping, or gift vouchers. A redemption fee of INR 99 + GST applies per transaction (charged once daily, even for multiple redemptions).
    What lounge access is included?
    • Domestic: 2 complimentary visits per quarter at major Indian airports.
    • International: 2 complimentary visits per year via Priority Pass (over 1,400 lounges worldwide).
    • Extra international visit: Spend INR 50,000 in a quarter for 1 additional visit (via Lounge Key voucher).
Beyond free visits, additional lounge access costs up to $35 per visit.
What does the travel insurance cover?
It’s complimentary and includes coverage for personal liability, trip delays, baggage loss, passport loss, and dental treatment. Exact limits (e.g., $50,000 coverage mentioned by some users) vary, so check the policy details with RBL Bank.
Is there a fuel surcharge waiver?
Yes, a 1% waiver on transactions between INR 500 and INR 4,000 at any fuel station in India, capped at INR 250 per month.
What are the interest rates and other fees?
    • Interest rate: 3.99% per month (47.88% annually).
    • Cash advance fee: 2.5% of the amount (minimum INR 500).
    • Late payment fees: Vary by outstanding balance (check RBL’s fee schedule for specifics).
    Who is eligible to apply?
    • Age: 21–65 years.
    • Income: Stable source (salaried or self-employed).
    • Credit score: Good (typically 700+ recommended).
Required documents: Identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.), address proof, and income proof.
How do I apply for the card?
    • Online: Visit www.rblbank.com, go to the World Safari Credit Card page, click “Apply Now,” and fill in personal and financial details.
    • Offline: Visit an RBL Bank branch with documents and submit a physical form.
    What are the downsides?
    • Reward rate (0.5%–1.25%) is modest compared to premium cards.
    • No dining, entertainment, or airline loyalty program benefits.
    • INR 99 + GST redemption fee can reduce point value.
    • Customer service complaints (e.g., slow responses) are noted by some users on platforms like X.
    Is it worth it?
It’s ideal for frequent international travelers who value the 0% markup fee and can hit milestone spends (e.g., INR 7.5 lakh/year for max benefits). For domestic-only users or low spenders, the INR 3,000 fee might not justify the rewards.

Regarding their forex charge mark up

    04/01/2026

It’s true that they don’t charge markup but their conversion charges are higher by at least 7.5 – 10%. Unfortunately they cheat the customer legally. Amex itself charge lesser than these guys…..
